3″ Glass Block Styles

Wave

The Wave or Nubio pattern is the most popular by a large margin. It is one of the oldest continuously manufactured patterns available.
Glass block manufacturers may call this or similar patterns Wave, Wavy, Nubio, Decora, Flemish, or others.

Wave offers a high degree of light transmission with a moderate degree of privacy.  You can see the amount of distortion in the photo above.

Ice

The Ice pattern is excellent for bathroom windows or windows where you require a high degree of privacy. The view is significantly distorted and though the light is more diffused it still provides a significant amount of light transmission.

Glass block manufacturers may call this or similar patterns Ice, Icy, IceScapes, Iceberg, Toba, or others.

Ice is the most obscure of the standard patterns.  As you can see in the above image, the towels are not identifiable.

Diamond

The Diamond pattern we have available is exclusive to SEVES. It provides a similar degree of privacy and light transmission as the Wave pattern but in a more decorative geometric pattern.

This Diamond pattern is exclusive to SEVES. There are similar geometric patterns that have been available over the years from other manufacturers called DM, Pristal, Delphi, Diamante, or others.

Diamond is a great option if you want moderate privacy and high light transmission and want a more decorative pattern.

Clear

The Clear is essentially patternless. If you want a transparent window that allows the most possible light to pass through, this is the one.

Glass block manufacturers may call this or similar patterns Clear, Clarity, Vue, Smooth, or others.

Clear is the choice when you want to see in our out of the window or wall and want the most natural light available to come in.

Frost

Frost is essentially a Clear block that has been etched on both exposed surfaces. It will have the appearance of matte white tile.

Only SEVES catalogs Satin or Frosted surface finishes.

Frost is the choice when you want absolute privacy.  Light transmission is greatly diminished due to the surface treatment.  And when backlit it looks similar to a glowing white tile.

The surface treatment that makes this block absolute obscure can also make this block nearly transparent when wet, so be aware when your application can be wet on both sides at the same time.

Bronze

Bronze is the same as Wave except that it’s made with bronze tinted glass. This is a great option if you have a tan, brown, or other natural colored brick or paint.
SEVES is the only manufacture who makes this colored block in 3 standard imperial sizes.

Bronze provides the same degree of light transmission and privacy as the Wave, but with a brown or bronze tine.

Atkis (Not regular inventory)

Atkis is another decorative geometric pattern unique to SEVES. It provides for a high degree of light transmission and a moderate amount of privacy.

Alpha (Not regular inventory)

Alpha is the last of the decorative 3 inch thick patterns from SEVES. This pattern provides maximum light and transparency.
